Virginia Jane Addington, our “Granny,” passed away from this Earth on Tuesday, February 28, 2017.   She was born June 23, 1930, in East Aurora, New York, to Suzanna and Clinton Eldridge. Virginia “Jimmy” was raised in Florida and later lived in Statesville, North Carolina where she raised and loved her two sons, Gary (Jane) and Jimmy Duncan.   Virginia is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Addison (Ad) Addington, her devoted caregiver as she battled dementia during recent years. Also left to cherish her memory is sister, Zanna Partin, Texas; sisters-in-love, Tweed Montgomery and Billie (BJ) Ash; grandsons, Zachary Duncan, Josh (Jenny) Duncan; Chad (Jessica) Duncan; great grandsons, Corbin Duncan, Lucas Duncan, Zachary Beck, Andrew Beck, Jack Duncan; numerous nieces and nephews survive.   While living in Statesville, Virginia was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school to the children. She enjoyed working in the children’s department at Spainhours.   After her marriage to Ad, they resided in Tennessee and Alabama before retiring to Cleveland, Georgia. There she joined First Presbyterian Church of Cleveland.   Virginia enjoyed traveling, making friends at Sugar Creek Campground, crocheting, knitting, sewing and playing solitaire. More than anything, she loved her family.   Virginia was laid to rest Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Clermont, Georgia with Barrett Funeral Home assisting with arrangements.   The family would like to thank to staff of Ashton Assisted Living in Gainesville, Georgia for their care of Granny.   Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice in Virginia’s memory.   Online condolences can be made to the family at www.barrettfh.com   Barrett Funeral Home of Cleveland
