Walter E. "Bert" Dierkes

Mr. Walter Elbertus (Bert) Dierkes age 91 of Sautee passed away Friday June 8, 2007 at his residence following a period of declining health. Mr. Dierkes was born in Benbow Missouri the son of the late John Shields Dierkes and Cecila Johnson Dierkes. He played his music at the Old Bavarian Inn in Helen the past 14 years and was a member of the Musician’s Union. Mr. Dierkes was a member of the Moose Lodge #13316204 in Satellite, Florida. Survivors include his wife, Victoria Dierkes, Sautee; son and daughter in law, J. Michael and Ellen Dierkes, Roswell, sons, Daniel Dierkes, Greensboro, Robert Dickinson, Melbourne, FL; daughters and sons in law, Susan and Duncan Galbrith, MI., Edith and Robert Cole, WI.; 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday June 11, 2007 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Sig Arnesen will officiate.
