Walter Joseph Jankowski, Sr.

Mr. Walter Joseph Jankowski, Sr. age 87 of Murrayville, passed away on Saturday, April 05, 2008 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. Born in Hudson County, New Jersey on December 15, 1920, he was the son of the late Michael and Cecelia Loudwiczewska Jankowski. Mr. Jankowski served his country proudly in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII and was active in the Fawn Lakes Homeowner’s Association. He was a member of St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church in Cleveland and was preceded in death by his wife Sylvia Keller Jankowski. Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Lange, Dahlonega; son, Jan Jankowski, Dahlonega; sisters, Florence Eichenlaub, Manahawkin, NJ; Cecelia Mackiewicz, Rioverde, AZ; 2 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Mr. Jankowski’s wishes were to be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
