William (Billy) Westmoreland

Mr. William ( Billy) Westmoreland age 78 of Cleveland passed away Sunday April 12, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Westmoreland was born in Banks County the son of the late Marvin and Gladys Emmett Westmoreland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laverne Westmoreland and daughter, Margaret Westmoreland. Mr. Westmoreland was retired from American Freight systems and the owner of Bill Westmoreland leasing trucking co. He was a veteran serving in the United States Air Force. Mr. Westmoreland was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and the Yonah Masonic Lodge #382 F & AM. Survivors include daughters and sons in law, Laura and Charles Arrowood, Claudia and Randy Thompson, Frankie and Michael Brewton, all of Cleveland, Robin and Billy Dalton, Melanie and Anthony Cosetino, all of Branford, FL; son and daughter in law, Billy and Sandra Westmoreland, Savannah; brother, Ferd Westmoreland, Cleveland; 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday April 14, 2009 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Flynn and the Rev. Chris Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors by the White County Color Guard. The family will receive friends 6-9 PM Monday at the funeral Home.
