William Burch Haynes Sr.

William Burch Haynes, Sr., age 90 of Cleveland, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018.   Mr. Haynes was born on December 11, 1927, in Blakely, Georgia, to the late Henry and Alice Roberts Haynes.  He worked in Finance at SunTrust Bank and was a member of Mt. Yonah Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.  Mr. Haynes was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in World War II. Mr. Haynes was preceded in death by his wife, Betty D. Haynes; sister, Wynona Haynes Henderson.   Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Beth Haynes and Brian Crooks, Atlanta; son and daughter-in-law, William “Bill” Haynes, Jr. and Janet Haynes, Abingdon, VA; Bonnie and Curt Smith, Watkinsville; grandchildren, William B. “Will” Haynes, III and Michelle Haynes, John Daniel Haynes, Sean William Smith, and Megan and Nolan Cheap; sister, Eloise Haynes Lawson.   Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.  The Rev. Andee Courson and the Rev. Doug Merck will officiate.  Interment will be at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, Georgia, on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 12 noon.   The family will receive friends from 2-4 P.M.
