William Carnes

William Michael Carnes, age 71, of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. Mr. Carnes was born on November 14, 1951, in White County, to the late Solomon and Margaret Self Carnes. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation, where he worked as a mechanic, and a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Carnes was also a member of Mt. Yonah Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Teresa Carnes, Cleveland; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Rev. Jason Moon, Clermont; son, Josh Nutting, Cleveland; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Sandra Carnes, Lula; grandchildren, Malachi Nutting, Mikayla Nutting, Brantley Miller, and Waylon Miller. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 16, 2023, at Mt. Yonah Baptist Church. The Rev. Doug Merck and the Rev. Ross Roberts will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Yonah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
