William Edward Hood

Mr. William Edward Hood, age 91, of Cleveland, passed away, Thursday, January 07, 2010 at Northeast GA Medical Center following an extended illness. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Saturday in Barrett Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Mike Irvin will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. View Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors by the White County Color Guard. The family will receive friends Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Mr. Hood was born on January 9, 1918 to the late Claude and Eunice Burke Hood. He was also preceded in death by his brother Grover Hood and granddaughter Faye Staton. Mr. Hood was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army. He was a Mason, member of the American Legion, and a member of Mt. View Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Aveleen Hood, Cleveland; son and daughter in law, Edward and Doris Hood, Cleveland; daughter, Eunice Hood, McDonough; brother and sister in law, Joe and Betty Hood, Clermont; sister and brother in law, Doris and George Smith, Washington, GA; grandchildren, Scott and Karen Mote, Demorest; Edrick Hood, Andersonville, GA; Amanda and Dario Hanic, Cleveland; Velma Ucker, McDonough, GA; 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
