William Robert Hudson

Mr. William Robert Hudson, age 80 of Cleveland, left us on Monday, March 23, 2009. Mr. Hudson celebrated his 80th birthday on February 9, 2009. He was born in Lamar, SC. He was blessed by a wife of 57 years, Sally Hudson. He served in the US Navy for four years. He was a graduate of North Greenville Junior College of Tigerville, South Carolina and San Diego State College with a degree in Business Administration. He worked his career in Civil Service at Point Mugu Naval Air Missile Base in Oxnard, California. He has been a resident of White County since 1980. Bill Hudson loved his country and was active in his community. He served as past President of the White County Republican Party and supporter of the Boy Scouts of America. He was past President of the AARP of White County. He was active in the White County American Legion, Roy Head Post 16. His family would like to thank this community for the love and support you have shown him since becoming a citizen of this beautiful county. Survivors include: his wife: Sally Hudson, Cleveland; Children: Daughters and Sons-in-law Patti and Jimmy Parris, Cleveland and Margie and David Conway, Houston, Texas; Son and Daughter-in-law: Robert and Wanda Hudson of Moorepark, California; Grandchildren: Brandon Byerly, Kendra Diaz, Nathan Hudson, Michelle Conway, Kyle Parris, Amy Parris and Eric Parris; One brother and sister in law, George and Barbara Hudson, Lamar South Carolina and Three sisters, Grace Hoppe of Summerton, South Carolina, Peggy Smith of Columbia, South Carolina and Jackie and Nate Lombardo of Smyrna, Delaware. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2009 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Bob Williamson and the Rev. Dean Head will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Medical Center Foundation for Cardiac Care, 2150 Limestone Pkwy.
