William Lovic Allen

William Lovic Allen, age 96 of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Allen was born March 28, 1917 in White County to the late George and Maggie Stewman Allen. He was a saw miller and a member of Mt. Yonah Baptist Church. Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his wife Frances Adams Allen, son Dale Allen, daughters Sally Chambers, Midge Cathy, granddaughter Sissy Palmer. Survivors include his grandchildren, Edwin Cathey; Linton Allen; Angela Welborn, all of Cleveland; Joe Cathey, Snellville; Pam Knepp, Cleveland; sisters, Ruby Reid; Jessie Mae Cannon, both of Cleveland; Evelyn Jones, Chesnut Mountain; brother, Hoyt Allen, Cleveland; 9 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, July 19, 2013 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Chris Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Yonah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
