William Westmoreland

Mr. William “Bill” Edwin Westmoreland Sr., age 91, of Jeffersontown, KY, formerly of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Baptist Health of Louisville, KY. Mr. Westmoreland was born in Clermont, GA to the late William Howard and Lillie Mae Nix Westmoreland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Pearl Vinson Westmoreland; and brothers, Johnny Lee Westmoreland and Charles (Bud) Westmoreland; and sister, Jean Underwood. Mr. Westmoreland was a retired Master Sergeant of the US Army, as well as a counselor. Survivors include his sons, William E. Westmoreland Jr., Commerce, GA, and Richard Westmoreland, Clermont, GA; daughter, Nancy Meaders (Denise), Cornelia, GA; sisters, Patricia Butler, Talking Rock, GA and Darlene Spencer of Flowery Branch; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Nix will officiate. Interment will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
