Winfred Leroy Kanady

Winfred Leroy Kanady age 95 of Cleveland passed away Saturday January 18, 2014 at Northeast Ga Medical Center. Mr. Kanady was born in White County the son of the late Elbert and Gertrude Allison Kanady. He was preceded in death by brothers, J.D. Kanady, Herman Kanady, sisters, Bonnie Gooch and Euflah Allen. He was a farmer and the oldest member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Sue Kanady, Cleveland; daughters and son in laws Sylvia and Herbert Williamson, Oakwood, Debbie and Tommy Holloway, Kay and Anthony Gilleland, all of Gainesville; sons and Daughter in laws, Billy and Donna Kanady, Gillsville, Danny and Ruth Carder, Gainesville; brothers, Ewell Kanady, Cleveland, Thomas Kanady, Fort Worth, TX; 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a special cousins, Stanley and Starr Wills. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday January 21, 2014 at Shoal Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Jerry Whitlock, the Rev. Chris Anderson and Dr. Joe Vernon will officiate. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral Home.
