Winnie Fred Nix

Winnie Fred Nix, age 83 of Cleveland, passed away Monday, July 4, 2011 at her daughter’s residence. Mrs. Nix was born February 29, 1928 in South Carolina to the late Frank and Lela Tanner Holbrooks. She was a homemaker and of the Christian Faith. Mrs. Nix was preceded in death by her husband Loye Herbert Nix, daughter Wilma Lea Totherow, grandson John Gary Sanders. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Griffin and David BlackBeaver, Acworth, GA; Lois and Harold Crigger, Texas; daughter, Rita Sanders, Gainesville, GA; son, Christopher Loye Nix, Cleveland; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Thursday, July 7, 2011 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Arrowood will officiate. Interment will follow in Harmony Church Cemetery in Blue Ridge, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
