James Woodrow “Woody” Hamilton, 85, of Union City, GA, formerly of East Point, GA passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2007. He was born on October 26, 1921 in Cleveland Georgia. He served proudly in the U.S. Navy for two years in the South Pacific. In 1987, after 30 years of service, he retired from Delta Airlines. He loved gardening, trout fishing and spending time with his family. He touched many lives with his sense of humor, acts of service and faith in God.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Vera Miller Hamilton, daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Richard Bullock of Sharpsburg, GA; son and daughter-in-law Jim and Kristen Hamilton of Atlanta GA and son and daughter-in-law Doug and Barbara Hamilton of Oxford, Ohio; grandchildren, Michele Paschal of Aiken, SC, Beth Keith of Rome, GA, Jimmy Hamilton of Atlanta, GA, Matt Hamilton of Washington D.C., Katherine Hamilton and Ethan Hamilton of Oxford, Ohio; great grandchildren, Lindsey Paschal, Allison Paschal and Garrett Paschal of Aiken SC.
Funeral Services will be held 1 P.M. Saturday, February 24 at Mossy Creek Methodist Church, Dr. Steve Midkiff, Pastor, officiating. Visitation will be Friday, February 23 at Barrett Funeral Home, Cleveland GA from 6-8 pm.
