Wylie Alton Carter

Mr. Wylie Alton Carter, age 74 of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at the Lanier Park Campus of the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville following an extended illness. Born in Palm Beach, Florida on March 14, 1932, he was the son of the late Lewis Edward and Viola Harrel Carter. Mr. Carter was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy and was a Diesel Mechanic for many years with Greyhound Bus Lines. He was a member of the Free Chapel Worship Center in Gainesville where he served as an Elder and was actively involved in the Carnation Ministry. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, John William and Eloise Carter, and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Hart. Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Jenscinna Ann Ruilova Carter, Cleveland; brother and sister-in-law, Charles Edward and Carol Carter, Jacksonville, FL; nephews, Jamie Carter, TX; Dwayne Carter, Jacksonville, FL; Mark Hart, Kenny Wylie Hart, both of Port Richey, FL; niece, Sharon K. Carter, Jacksonville, FL; sister-in-law, Caroline Hart, Cleveland; other great nieces, nephews, and 5 spiritual children. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2007 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Dr. Rich Rogers and the Rev. Dwayne Welborn will officiate. Interment will follow in the Yonah View Memorial Gardens in Cleveland. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all donations be made to Free Chapel Worship Center for Missions in memory of Wylie Carter, 1290 McEver Road, Gainesville, Georgia 30504 or to No Longer Bound Ministries, 2735 Pine Grove Road, Cumming, Georgia 30041.
